The Snow Queen is a classic quest narrative: to connect the masculine and feminine; to undergo the necessary trials of life, and to move toward wholeness. In the tale, a boy named Kai falls under the spell of the beautiful Snow Queen. His friend Gerda embarks on an arduous journey to find him. This tale can show the way we connect to what was there naturally in childhood, but how that gets lost as we grow older. It is also a tale that can direct adults as they confront the trials that life brings to use these tasks in the service of individuation.

In this seminar, we will examine the tasks and opportunities that Gerda confronts and see what wisdom they offer us on our journey toward wholeness.

Julie Bondanza, PhD, is a Jungian analyst and licensed psychologist in private practice in the Washington DC Metropolitan area. She trained at the C.G. Jung Institute of New York, where she was on the teaching faculty for many years. She has been the director of training for both the New York Institute and the Philadelphia branch of the Inter-Regional Society of Jungian Analysts. She is the program director for the C.G. Jung Foundation of New York, where she had served for many years on its board of trustees, and she teaches in many Jungian venues across the country, both to the public and to analysts-in-training.
