Workshops and Seminars
Holy Rage, Divine Mystery
a daylong program led by Saturday, March 28, 2009 God is an unknowable mystery that is felt to be the basis of existence and the subjective experience of vitality and meaning. If there is a nuclear glue at the core of individual and social cohesion, that generative and gravitational psychic factor would have to be known by the name of god. In this workshop, Dr. Ventimiglia will provide two talks and the opportunity for discussion. The first talk will explore the failure of organized religion to make sense of our world, its trauma and rage, and provide a container for unbearable emotion. The second talk will seek to draw nearer to the mystery of the unseen self. Interested participants may want to read “Terrorism and the Dark Side of Religion” (Quadrant XXXIV, 2, Summer 2004) or “Where Is God Gone?” (Parabola ,Vol. 30, No. 4). Note: the Parabola issue is availble from Parabola.org. William J. Ventimiglia, DMin, IAAP, is a graduate of the C.G. Jung Institute of Zurich, Switzerland, and is past-president of the New England Society of Jungian Analysts and of The Training Board of the C.G. Jung Institute of Boston. He has a private practice in Cambridge and Topsfield, MA.
