Workshops and SeminarsThe C.G. Jung Foundation presents
a daylong seminar led by Saturday, May 20, 2006 This will be a day devoted to Jung’s unique and challenging theory of dreams. Jung understood that we need some kind of objective lens in order to see past our assumptions and expectations; something that would reveal a way to our own deep selves. Dreams serve this purpose as symbolic carriers of the way we are oriented to the collective unconscious. In learning to decipher the natural language of dreams, we will begin with a whirlwind tour of famous historical dreams and dream theories. This will bring us to Jung’s particular use of dreams and their ability to correct our personal missteps as well as to guide us along the path of individuation. After learning some of the tools of Jungian dream work, there will be some time allotted for work on participants’ dreams in an anonymous setting. Morgan Stebbins, MDiv, CSW, is a Jungian analyst in private practice in New York City and a graduate of the C.G. Jung Institute of New York. He has led seminars at the University of California, Berkeley, and Columbia University, and is a member of the Foundation’s Continuing Education faculty.
