The C. G. Jung Foundation Book Service presents

A Reading and Book Signing

The Cassandra Complex:
Living with Disbelief —
A Modern Perspective on Hysteria

with author

Laurie Layton Schapira,
RN, MSN, Jungian Analyst

Tuesday, April 14, 2009, 6:00 p.m.

Free to the Public

Blessed and cursed by Apollo, through her gift of prophesy Cassandra foretold the future. Enraged by her rejection of him, Apollo spoiled his gift. No one would ever believe her. Cassandra’s story is a chronicle of disbelief.

Laurie Layton Schapira will read from her book as we contemplate whether modern intuitive women, especially sensitive to coming change, must suffer the same fate.

Laurie Layton Schapira, RN, MSN, is a Jungian Analyst in private practice in New York. She is a graduate of the C.G. Jung Institute of New York, where she serves on its faculty and board.

This event will be held in the
C. G. Jung Foundation Book Service
28 East 39th Street
